This group of pelagic birds is made up of the Albatrosses, Petrels, Shearwaters and Srorm-Petrels. They roam the vast open oceans in search of food which they sniff out with a truly incredible sense of smell.
Only when it comes time to breed do they return to land (usually remote islands). Incredibly many species return to the same sites and typically the same mates each year. Even after being apart for many months at sea.
Watching the effortless grace of an Albatross soar above the ocean is something that every nature lover should see as it truly is incredible how easy they make it look.
