The Penguin family is made up of 18 species of birds that are restricted almost exclusively to the Southern Hemisphere. These charismatic birds are perhaps the most beloved family of birds
in the entire world. It goes without saying
that anyone who sees a Penguin waddling along on land will immediately
fall in love with these cute little seabirds.
Penguins are incredibly well adapted to life in the cold oceans and actually far more graceful swimming through the ocean than they are on land. In some special places Penguins come together
to breed in huge colonies
where up to a million birds may congregate for a truly spectacular sight, sound
and....smell!
I have been fortunate enough to visit these incredible birds in the Falkland Islands, on South Georgia and also off the coast of Peru. They are such fun birds to hang out with and make absolutely
incredible photo subjects.
I hope you will enjoy the gallery!
